Groups and Group Workshops

Brewers Guild
The Brewers Guild is interested in all aspects of brewing from the mundane to the medical. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic recipes are researched. However, NO underage drinking is tolerated. We want to represent the best in our craft, and invite you to join us at our regularly scheduled meetings; usually once a month on a Wednesday evening we get together at a local pub.

Cooking Guild
The Cooking Guild studies period recipes and cooking techniques. If you would like to learn more about period cooking, please contact the Guild about scheduling new workshops.

Herbal Guild
In the Herbal Guild of Darach we research both period and modern herb uses, growing tips and recipes for use in the “current middle ages.” Meetings vary in time and dates, so please check the social media pages and announcements and join us!

Textiles Guild
The Textiles Guild is another way of saying “Sewing” or “Costuming Workshops.” Textiles is open to anyone, regardless of whether you are at a beginning, intermediate, or advanced sewing level. Workshops are hosted often at the home of either Mathom Grange (in Oxnard) or Wit’s End (in Ventura). Sewing machines are available as well as libraries full of medieval costuming at both locations. Future Arts and Sciences workshops in sewing and pattern drafting resuming on Sundays, when fair weather allows. Various other arts workshops –all held outside, on Sundays—will occur at the whims of the Darach Populace and Arts Officers:) Please stay tuned to the Shire of Darach FB wall—as well the Shire email list. For more info contact Comptess Albra Katerine at albrakat7@yahoo.com—or ask questions on the Shire of Darach FB wall. As we navigate the former ‘lockdown times’ we are working to re-establish a workable class schedule whilst ‘staying safe’ and healthy. Stay tuned!
